Our Parents as Teachers rep, Telia, paid a visit last night. We’re always curious to see whether Teagan will be in a cooperative mood. We usually start of by listing Teagan’s latest milestones, achievements, words, etc, and then we play a game to test some of her skills. Last night Rog and I had to go through several cards with pictures of actions, and pick out 3 or 4 that we knew she could do. She nailed the first few: close the door, find your shoes, go get a book, but she apparently bored of this game quickly. When we asked her to blow kisses (which we know she can do very well), she stuck a bucket over her head and laughed. As Rog pointed out, this was especially funny since she refuses to wear hats.
We need to work a little more on vocalizing objects for her so she can pick those words up, but we know that she understands commands very well. It just depends on her mood whether she will follow instructions. She can be quite stubborn. (I wonder where she gets that?) Though her words last night were few, as Telia got up to leave, Teagan grabbed her shape sorter, and quickly begin picking up shapes and depositing them in the correct holes, turning the sorter or the blocks to get them to go in. I beamed with pride. Speaking isn’t my strong point either. =)
The obsession with shoes continues. Whether they’re her own or ours, she insists on trying on different pairs and walking around the house. Later last night, as I was trying to get her ready for bed, she found Rog’s running shoes, and this photo opportunity presented itself. I now have it saved as my desktop background here at work. This kid is such a clown.
Also of note, she has my shoes on the wrong feet. I guess it's hard to tell when they're that big. I found it funny, though.

That cute photo made me chuckle out loud!! Glad you are having luck with your PAT gal now.
Seems to me, we have a picture of Aimee, taken some 29 years ago.... wearing a knit cap, and possibly her daddy's glasses...if I remember correctly.......the clown comes naturally. Love, MiMi
